Idea No. 5: Another Pen

okay, so i have a new favorite pen. i found it when i was in the art store last week. It matches the baby books perfectly...a beautiful grayish brown. i've been using the "F" for my son's baby book. it's not too thin and not too thick.

Idea No. 5: A Good Pen

There is something beautiful about your own handwriting. I think it adds meaning to a baby book...no pressure to make pretty little illustrations or bubble letters...just a simple pen that makes your handwriting look its best on the page. Here is a pen I like (click on the pen to see more details...although I never seem to use the thick end of the pen.)

Idea No. 4: Get it down

Get it down, somewhere, anywhere...and add it to your book every few months.

Keep a word document or a notebook handy to jot down funny things, milestones, what you're baby has been up to...You can write them down when they happen and then go back later to record it in your book. (There are so many things I missed with my son, because I didn't have something quick to write it down in...and now I'm thinking, now, when did he get his first tooth?)

Keep It Simple: Idea No. 3

Rather than trying to attached pictures on pages with photo corners or adhesive, use the photo pages included in your book...Then integrate them into the journal pages with each category. It's an easy way to add images without having to worry about a "page layout". Each photo page has room to write a little description on it down the side or the image can be centered in the space with no caption. An easy way to keep up with memories without all the work...now if you can just keep your camera handy!

Baby Book Idea No. 2::

Every month take a picture of your baby in the same location with some sort of prop (in a chair with a pillow or stuffed animal) and you can see how fast they grow. I've added photo pages to my etsy shop to add the month pictures for each month the first year.
